Liam Ruddy Secures City Winner Straand Beauty

Liam Ruddy has continued to build momentum within his young training operation after securing city-winning galloper Straand Beauty through the Magic Millions Digital Sale.
The four-year-old son of Exceed And Excel topped the sale when he was purchased by Liam Ruddy Bloodstock for $75,000 from the draft of Baramul Stud.
Straand Beauty entered the sale in strong form, having recorded a metropolitan victory at Warwick Farm on February 18, and had been trained by leading Randwick trainers John O’Shea and Tom Charlton.
For Ruddy, the purchase represents an exciting addition to the stable as it continues to grow following the early stages of his training career.
Identifying Opportunity
The opportunity to purchase Straand Beauty came through bloodstock agent James Hetherington, who suggested the horse during the Magic Millions Digital Sale.
Liam moved quickly once he had reviewed the horse and the opportunity the online platform presented.
The result was the successful purchase of a horse already proven at metropolitan level.
Pedigree and Performance
Straand Beauty brings both performance and pedigree to the stable.
The gelding is a three-time winner with more than $160,000 in prizemoney and comes from a well-related family.
He is a full brother to Group 3 Canonbury Stakes winner Mclaren, while his dam Serenada traces back to a family that includes Group winners First Command and Oneworld.
That pedigree strength, combined with his racetrack performance, made him an appealing prospect for the stable.
Plans for the New Recruit
Straand Beauty has already attracted a strong ownership group, with several owners joining the horse shortly after the purchase.
The gelding will race in the colours of Greg Stewart, and connections are optimistic about the opportunities ahead.
Ruddy indicated the initial plan is to target a number of country feature races in the coming weeks, before returning to metropolitan company in Sydney.
A Growing Stable
The addition of Straand Beauty comes at an exciting time for Liam Ruddy Racing.
After recording his first training victory earlier this year, the stable continues to attract support from owners looking to become involved with a young and ambitious training operation.
With a talented team of horses developing and new opportunities emerging, the future looks bright as the stable continues to grow.
Straand Beauty now joins the team as one of the stable’s headline performers, and connections will be looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in the coming months.
For those interested in joining the journey, new ownership enquiries are always welcome as the stable continues to expand.
